This Halloween, Exceptional Wine Experiences invites you beyond the ordinary for an evening of cult wines, seasonal cuisine, blind tasting and mystery.
Forget the costumes and haunted-house theatrics.
This is Halloween for wine lovers.
And on this particular evening, your guide through the world of wine will be none other than your Seance Sommelier, Jason Michael Pate — appearing as Lord Rothschild, the mysterious keeper of the evening’s extraordinary cellar.
The Evening
🕯️ The First Summoning
Lord Rothschild begins the evening with a mysterious pour of bubbles. The identity is concealed. Taste, discuss and attempt to uncover what lies in your glass.
🔮 The Double-Blind Summoning
Two wines. One mystery. With Lord Rothschild as your guide, taste them side by side and see what your palate reveals.
🍷 The Cult Wines of the Past
Rare and mature wines emerge from the shadows.
Are they dead or alive?
Lord Rothschild will lead the table through extraordinary bottles with stories, character and remarkable history—while their identities remain concealed until the moment of revelation.
🍽️ The Halloween Wine Dinner
A multi-course dinner at Old Vines Mercato, with each course thoughtfully paired with exceptional wines selected specifically for the evening.
👻 The Final Cult Wine
Every séance requires a final spirit.
Lord Rothschild will unveil one extraordinary hidden bottle as the evening’s final pour—its identity revealed only when the time is right.
Over $1,000 in Wine Value
More than $1,000 in wine value will be poured for this gathering, making the evening an opportunity to experience a remarkable collection of wines in an intimate dinner setting.

As Lord Rothschild
For one night only, Jason steps beyond his customary role as the host of Exceptional Wine Experiences and assumes the persona of Lord Rothschild, custodian of the evening’s mysterious cellar.
With a cellar of secrets, a palate for the extraordinary and a few bottles that may—or may not—have survived the passage of time, Lord Rothschild will guide guests through an evening of blind tasting, revelation and exceptional wine.
His mission is simple:
To determine which wines are truly dead… and which still possess a little life.
Dark Elegance
Expect an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere of candlelight, crystal, fine wine and a touch of mystery.
Dress Code: Dark Elegance
Black, burgundy, jewel tones and sophisticated evening attire.
No costumes, please.
The candles will be lit.
The cult wines will be poured.
The bottles will remain hidden.
