Rare Wines. Rare Stories. Rare Company.
There are wine tastings.
And then there are evenings when the person who made the wine sits across the table from you and tells you exactly why she made it.
Exceptional Wine Experiences is preparing for one of those evenings.
We are thrilled to welcome Sharon Kazan Harris, founder and winemaker of RARECAT Wines, for an exclusive, intimate in-home wine tasting in Naples, Florida.
This will be an evening devoted to remarkable wines, fascinating stories and the woman behind one of California’s most distinctive boutique wine houses.
A Winemaker With a Rather Extraordinary Story
Founded in 2008, RARECAT Wines was created around a deceptively simple philosophy: make wines that are elegant, complex and balanced.
But Sharon’s winemaking story is anything but simple.
Her approach represents a bridge between her French winemaking education and California roots, with RARECAT producing ultra-premium wines from four of the world’s most prestigious wine regions:
Napa Valley
Champagne
Bordeaux
Russian River Valley
That geographic range alone makes RARECAT unusual.
The philosophy behind the wines makes it even more intriguing.
From Napa Valley to Champagne
Sharon Kazan Harris occupies a particularly interesting place in the American wine landscape.
She is the first American woman to make a Champagne, and RARECAT’s portfolio crosses boundaries that few small, family-owned wineries attempt.
Rather than building a mass-market brand, RARECAT has remained deliberately personal.
The winery does not distribute its wines through the traditional three-tier marketplace. Instead, bottles are sold directly from the winery to people Sharon and her family know.
That makes the experience of tasting RARECAT especially personal.
You’re not simply discovering another bottle on a restaurant list.
You’re getting a glimpse into the world of the winemaker herself.
An In-Home Wine Experience in Naples
For this special gathering, Exceptional Wine Experiences is bringing that world directly to an intimate Naples setting.
Guests will have the opportunity to taste selected RARECAT wines while hearing Sharon discuss her winemaking philosophy, her journey between France and California, and the distinctive character of the regions represented in her portfolio.
We’ll explore the wines.
We’ll talk about the places.
We’ll hear the stories.
And, of course, we’ll enjoy a wonderful evening together.
This is precisely the kind of gathering Exceptional Wine Experiences was created to produce: small, personal and impossible to replicate with a conventional wine tasting.
Why RARECAT?
Because great wine is ultimately about more than what’s in the glass.
It is about place.
It is about people.
It is about craftsmanship.
And it is about the stories that make a particular bottle memorable long after the last sip.
RARECAT brings all of those elements together.
Four prestigious wine regions.
One remarkable winemaker.
One family-owned winery.
And an intentionally small audience of wine enthusiasts.
Rare Wines. Rare Stories. Rare Company.
This isn’t a large public tasting.
It isn’t a trade event.
And it isn’t an ordinary evening at a wine bar.
It is an invitation into the world of Sharon Kazan Harris and RARECAT Wines—an intimate opportunity to taste, learn, ask questions and enjoy the company of fellow wine enthusiasts.
